Questions about the salary calculator

How the site works, what happens to the amounts you enter and where the results come from.

This page answers questions about the site and the tool itself: cost, privacy, updates, scope and the limits of the calculations. Questions about specific Polish rules, such as PIT-2, the youth relief, the health contribution or the mandate contract, have their own guides with calculators, reachable from the menu. The formulas we use are set out in the calculator methodology, and the tool itself is on the home page.

Frequently asked questions

Is the calculator free, and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free and needs no registration, login or email address. Every calculator and guide is available straight away, in English and in Polish. There is no premium tier, no cap on the number of calculations and no result hidden behind a form. You can run as many scenarios as you like, switch contracts and options, and come back whenever you need to.

Are the amounts I type sent anywhere?

No. Your browser does the calculation and the engine works without contacting a server. The amounts and options you enter are only written into the page address in your browser bar, so that you can copy a link with the result ready. We do not store them in a database or tie them to your identity. If you would rather the figure did not stay in your browser history, use a private window.

How often are the rates updated?

We check rates against official sources before every release and whenever the law changes: the minimum wage regulation, the contribution cap notice, the budget act and ZUS announcements. The current 2026 values were verified on 3 October 2026, and that date appears on every page. New rates go in once they are published in the Journal of Laws (Dziennik Ustaw) or Monitor Polski, never on the strength of a draft bill.

Why does the result differ from my payslip?

Usually for one of four reasons: your employer is not applying your PIT-2, uses different deductible costs, paid a bonus or overtime that month, or deducts non-tax items such as union dues or group insurance. A difference of about one złoty is down to rounding. Compare line by line on your pasek wypłaty (payslip): contributions, health, the tax advance, and only then the amount transferred.

Which types of contract can I calculate?

Four: the umowa o pracę (employment contract), umowa zlecenie (mandate contract), umowa o dzieło (specific-work contract) and B2B self-employment under three tax regimes (tax scale, 19 % flat tax, ryczałt). There are also dedicated calculators for net to gross, employer cost, annual salary, hourly wage, overtime, sick pay, PPK and bonuses, all running on the same engine and the same 2026 rates.

What can the calculator not work out?

It does not combine income from several employers, does not know the return relief, the 4+ family relief or the senior relief, and assumes the basic accident insurance rate and basic PPK rates. B2B is computed as a yearly average. Non-tax deductions are unknown to it. The full list of limits, with how each one affects the result, is in the calculator methodology.

Can I save my result or send it to someone?

Yes. After every change the calculator writes the amount and your options into the page address. Copy the link from your browser bar and send it by email or messenger: whoever opens it sees the same settings and the same result. That is handy for checking an offer with a Polish-speaking colleague or accountant. To print, use your browser's normal print command; the contribution breakdown prints with it.

Can I show the result to the tax office or my employer?

The result is an estimate, not a document. What counts legally is your employer's payroll, your ZUS records and your annual tax return. The calculator is useful for negotiating pay, comparing offers and checking your payslip, but for disputed or unusual cases ask a tax adviser (doradca podatkowy) or call the National Tax Information helpline (Krajowa Informacja Skarbowa).

Is the whole site available in English?

Yes. Every page has an English version with identical calculations, written for foreigners working in Poland. Polish terms such as umowa zlecenie, pasek wypłaty or urząd skarbowy (tax office) are explained, and amounts use the English number format. Switch language with the selector in the header; the rules and rates are the same in both versions.

Who is behind the calculator and the guides?

The site is published by Radif Partners, a publisher of free salary calculators. Every rate is tied to a specific legal act or to a ZUS or Ministry of Finance page, and the calculations are checked by automated tests. How we choose sources, update rates and fix errors is set out in our editorial policy. The site is not affiliated with ZUS, the Ministry of Finance or any accounting firm.

Can I put the calculator on my own website?

Yes. We offer a free widget you can embed on a company site, blog or intranet with a single snippet of code. It runs the same engine as this site, so the rates update on your page automatically with no work on your side, and an English version is available. Embedding instructions and a preview are on the “Embed the calculator” page.

I found a mistake in a calculation. What should I do?

Write to kontakt@naretke.pl with the gross amount, contract type, options ticked and the result you expected, ideally with the matching payslip lines and no personal data. We check every report against the legislation. If the error is confirmed, we fix the engine, add the case to the automated tests and update the verification date on the affected pages.
